Brittany Cromwell RD

Brittany Cromwell received her Bachelors of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from Radford University and completed her Dietetic Internship at East Carolina University. She has been a Registered Dietitian with Sentara Healthcare in Hampton Roads, Virginia for five years working in all levels of patient care within the acute care hospital setting for a wide variety of disease states, with a primary focus on head and neck cancer patients at Norfolk General for the past three years. Brittany completes inpatient nutrition counseling and education for this population, including transitioning patients to enteral nutrition support as needed, and back to an oral diet when appropriate.

Lisa Crujido MS, CCC-SLP

Lisa is a speech pathologist in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at Mayo Clinic Arizona.  Her clinical specialties include the diagnosis and treatment of voice and swallowing disorders in head and neck cancer as well as the general voice disordered population.  Ms. Crujido completed her graduate study at Illinois State University in 1979.  Post-graduate study includes participation in research in the in the Laryngeal and Speech Section of the NINDS of the National Institutes of Health, collaborative research on the effects of surface electrical stimulation and exercise in head and neck cancer patients with dysphagia following radiation therapy, and collaboration with the Dystonia Coalition on the development of a rating system and assessment tool for the diagnosis of spasmodic dysphonia.  She is a co-author on a number of publications that include treatment outcomes using radiotherapy for head and neck, the effects of e-stim and exercise in chronic pharyngeal dysphagia, and treatment programs for total laryngectomees.  She is a contributor to the text “Laryngeal Cancer: An Interdisciplinary Resource for Practitioners,” authoring a chapter on airway and respiratory challenges in larynx cancer.

Johnathan Mark MD, FACS

Dr. J Mark is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia.  He received his medical degree and completed residency training at Eastern Virginia Medical School.  He also completed a fellowship in Head and Neck Surgical Oncology/Microvascular Reconstruction at the University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine in Cincinnati, Ohio.   He is board certified from the American Board of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery.  He is also a member of numerous professional organizations to include the American Head and Neck Society, the American College of Surgeons, and the American Academy of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery.

Benjamin Rubinstein MD

Dr. Rubinstein completed a residency in otolaryngology in 2013 and a fellowship in laryngology in 2019. He is board certified in otolaryngology. His clinical practice focus is in comprehensive laryngology. The treatment of dysphagia, dysphonia, laryngeal cancer and airway stenosis are his primary areas of specialization. He also has experience with office evaluation and treatment of patients with dysphagia. He works closely with speech-language pathologists to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
